Minister of Tourism Rodney Sikumba says the countru’s tourist capital Livingstone, recorded 2.2 million tourist arrivals in 2024, with projections pointing to 2.4 million by the end of this year, the figures he says, underscores the tourism sector’s growing importance a as a key area for investment.

Mr. Sikumba further disclosed that government plans to redesign and modernize Livingstone using part of the US$100 million concessional loan secured from the World Bank to enhance the city’s infrastructure, improve service delivery, and elevate its global appeal as a competitive tourism hub.

Speaking when he featured on the Southern Potential programme on ZANIS TV, the Minister urged both local and international investors to take advantage of the upcoming South Expo 2025 which will showcase the vast untapped opportunities in tourism and related sectors.
